Job Description:
Dematic Corporation has an immediate opening for a Regional Service Technician in either Basking Ridge, NJ or Philadelphia, PA area. Under the direction of the Supervisor, Field Service, this position provides service and repair as well as service and maintenance training for installed Dematic systems and equipment. As the Dematic representative in the Customer's facility, this position has a heavy responsibility for maintaining customer goodwill toward Dematic. Primary objective is to ensure that Dematic systems have the greatest availability possible for Customer use and to ensure that Customers are satisfied with their Dematic system and equipment.
Qualifications:
* Trade school graduate or two year Associates degree in a mechanical, electrical, or mechanical technician program. Bachelors degree in Engineering
preferred.
* Two years (minimum) experience in troubleshooting electromechanical and/or mechanical equipment. Successful candidate must have some working experience with material handling equipment. Service experience with AGVS, AS/RS, or conveyors is highly prized.
* Must be willing to travel on short notice and spend more than 80% of the time traveling. May be continuously away from home for as long as a month.
* Must be willing to be on call and travel accordingly.
* Willingness to work weekends, holidays and off shifts.
* Must be able to act calmly in stressful situations.
* Must be able to write concise, clear, and complete trip reports in the timeframe required according to Dematic procedures.
* Must have knowledge in the use of personal computers for word processing, data base functions and communications. Understanding personal computer hardware setup and software configuration required.
* Working experience with troubleshooting PLC's is required.
