    Responsibilities

    The Learning and Measurement Designer will participate as a subject matter expert with a team of experts from across test development, measurement, and technology to provide support in the creation of learning and measurement designs that meet internal and external customer requirements. A Learning and Measurement Designer will assist in the definition and specification of constructs for all ACT products and services to act as the foundation for item specification and development efforts. This will include a primary role in the development and maintenance of Holistic Framework.

    The designer will have a thorough understanding of standards and best practices in learning, measurement, and navigation, and be instrumental in building expertise within the test development team. The position serves as a content expert in the Mathematics area for internal and external audiences and has proven ability to consistently create and deliver high quality materials on schedule.

    ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    Typical work-related activities include:

    • Contributes to the design process for all new learning and measurement products (attending to text complexity, accessibility, AI scoring, item types, developmental scoring design, design patterns (outcome of NCS) and required test preparation and ancillary materials)

    • Develops and maintains the Holistic Framework related to Mathematics

    • Proposes and reviews research specific to specified content area that will contribute to new ways to learn and measure these skills in the K-Career space (e.g., new item types, test formats, gaming/learning experiences)

    • Contributes to design and implementation of quality assurance protocols and procedures (e.g., scoring monitoring)

    • Contributes to the development of ACT strategy relative to standards in the K-Career space for Mathematics

    • Contributes to the creation of technical manuals and other internal and external documentation

    • Reviews learning and measurement tool specifications

    • Collaborates with Research to provide high quality psychometric judgment and thought leadership about design of new and current test development assessments and services

    Qualifications

    Education:

    Minimumeducation or training required to perform the role, including type of degree and discipline:

    • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or related field required

    • Master's degree preferred

    • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired

    Experience:

    Minimumyears of experience required, including type of experience:

    • A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience as a content expert and in the development and publishing of high quality, research-based educational and/or workplace assessments and/or learning materials

    • Understanding of learning and measurement quality and demonstrated record of achievement in measuring, monitoring, continuously improving, and delivery of high quality assessments and learning materials

    • Three years of teaching experience preferred
