Overview:
Reporting to the Master Black Belt, The Black Belt is responsible to provide process improvement throughout the logistics and operations area. The primary objective of a Black belt is to drive improvement through six sigma techniques and tools. The Black Belt will be responsible for leading the effort on projects that impact cost, productivity and service in each facility and throughout the network
Key Accountabilties:
Develop and clarify the project rationale with Champion
Develop and update the project charter and implementation plan
Select or help to select project team members
Identify and seek resources and information
Support and provide leadership to Process Management Teams
Mentor and coach teams on process improvement techniques and tools
Define and help others in the use of appropriate Six Sigma tools
Lead the analysis/measurement of the current process and proposals
Maintain the project schedule and keep progress moving toward final solutions
Support the transfer of new solutions or processes to ongoing operations, while working with process owner
Document final results as ""best practices"" to be introduced network wide
Other Responsibilities:
Conduct updates and presentation to senior management on project status
Provide analytics when necessary to both leadership and team members.
Requirements:
Four Year College Degree
Extensive Experience in project leadership
Knowledge of Six Sigma techniqiues and tools
Knowledge of Macys Systems
Advanced knowledge of PC programs including Word, Excel and Lotus Notes.
Ability to work independantly as well as part of a team.
Travel as needed, up to 30% may be required, depending on the nature of the project assigned.
