    Abt Associates seeks a qualified REDCap Data Manager in its Division of Health and Environment to support public health research projects mainly in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) portfolio. This position requires quantitative, writing and research competencies and skills. It is an ideal position for someone with a strong public health background who wishes to apply their knowledge to a range of research projects. The preferred location for this position is Atlanta, GA.

    Key Roles and Responsibilities

    • Serve as main point of contact for data-related activities across a range of projects that use REDCap.
    • Manage users and user rights across multiple projects.
    • Develop REDCap trainings and train users on methods.
    • Provide REDCap technical assistance throughout data collection.
    • Design and execute the data quality management plan.
    • Develop standard operating procedures for data entry into REDCap.
    • Using IRB-approved data collection instruments, serve as subject matter expert in the programming and design of REDCap project(s).
    • Conduct data quality checks to identify potential data entry errors.
    • Combine data from multiple sources to create interim and final datasets.
    • Collaborate with project leadership team on scope, timeline, and budget for data-related activities.
    • Summarize findings in tables, figures and maps and communicate information to project leadership.
    • Contribute to manuscripts and presentations for internal and external audiences.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    • May require some domestic travel.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • The following characteristics are considered essential:

    • Proficiency in REDCap

    • Strong academic record required
    • Excellent writing and quantitative skills
    • Proficiency with analytic tools and software (e.g., SAS, SPAA, Python, R)
    • Previous experience as a data manager
    • Previous experience working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

    Minimum Qualifications

    • BA with 6 - 8 years of experience OR MA/MBA (3) years of experience OR PhD (Entry Level) OR the equivalent combination of education and experience
