.NET Application Developer

WSP's VDI practice is currently initiating a search for an entry-level Full-Time .NET Application Developer for our Buffalo, NY or Denver, CO office (other locations can be considered). As part of the team, you will work on multiple concurrent projects of varying levels of complexity for projects of both short- and long-term duration, in close collaboration with colleagues and clients. The workload is fluid and follows informal scrum and waterfall development, driven by our client schedules and unique requirements. Our successful candidate must be highly motivated to work in a fast-paced and exciting consulting environment.

In this role you will learn basic principles of web development and project workflows using industry standard platforms. You will support a variety of web development projects with the goal of developing technical, social, and ethical skills across a variety of science and planning disciplines while ensuring that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and deliver modern data-driven .NET web applications which are performant, adhere to UI/UX designs, and meet responsive design and Section 508 accessibility compliance.

• Contribute to a variety of web development projects using modern development technologies to build fast and intuitive user experiences.

• Conduct requirements gathering/needs analysis and develop technical specifications for web solutions, including system diagrams and functional specification requirement documents for the rebuild of a WSP proprietary comment and response system.

• Communicate with a largely remote workforce across the United States to share project updates, provide training, discuss ideas, and troubleshoot problems or issues.

• Ability to perform development tasks within specified budgets and time frames.

• Pursuit of professional development to stay current with web development and delivery technologies.

• Adhere to the VDI culture of service, collaboration, innovation, and excellence.

• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Basic Requirements

• 0-1 years of professional, custom web-based data-driven application development using C# and .NET.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• Demonstrated exploration in the architecture, design, and development of modern data-driven .NET web applications.

• Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to both technical and non-technical audience.

• Understanding of Microsoft platforms, frameworks, and tools (Visual Studio, ASP.NET, and C#) and Microsoft SQL Server.

• Knowledge of HTML5, JavaScript (ES6+), CSS3, XML, JSON.

• Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to execute projects.

• Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, organized, and self-disciplined to organize time and work efficiently in a face-paced and exciting consulting environment.

• Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the position.

Preferred Requirements

• Familiarity using Microsoft development platforms such as Visual Studio, .NET and SQL Server.

• Familiarity with front-end development frameworks such as React (preferred), Vue, Angular, etc.

• Familiarity with web application requirements gathering/needs analysis and developing technical specifications on web solutions.

• Prior internship and leadership involvement on campus.

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations): $54,500 - $89,870

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.

Expected Salary (Colorado only): $61,400 - $84,370
