Assistant Controller

Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Controller in Spokane, Washington. This role involves overseeing the accounting activities of our company, ensuring the fiscal health of the business and providing support for various company projects. The Assistant Controller will also be responsible for communicating with customers, vendors, and employees on multiple accounting topics and overseeing the Accounts Payable team and processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the implementation of accounting best practices, systems, and tools to optimize ROI and minimize execution barriers

• Prepare and consolidate elimination journal entries

• Generate monthly financial statements, reports, and financial forecasts

• Monitor accounting activity across wholly owned subsidiaries

• Assist in managing the accounting department to ensure ongoing fiscal health of the business

• Oversee the Accounts Payable's supervisor, team, and processes

• Manage the Records Management department

• Review the calculation of gross margins monthly and investigate variances

• Prepare complex month-end journal entries and account reconciliations

• Assist with year-end audits

• Coordinate Annual budget process and aid Controller with monthly forecasting

• Prepare schedules to support the completion of the federal and state corporate tax returns

• Prepare other compliance reporting as assigned

• Support company and department projects as assigned

Skills

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services

• Knowledge of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions

• Familiarity with Great Plains (GPAC)

• Proficiency in Accounting Functions such as Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in Auditing

• Familiarity with Budget Processes

SALARY RANGE: $110,000 - $118,0000 DOE

Requirements - Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, such as Assistant Controller or similar finance-related positions.

• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems.

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services.

• Knowledge and experience in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning.

• Familiarity with ERP Solutions.

• Experience with Great Plains (GPAC).

• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions.

• Proficient in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Experience in Auditing.

• Familiarity with Budget Processes and its implementation.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field is preferred.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

• Knowledge of relevant local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
