    Description

    1. Assists in providing a safe environment by ensuring children understand how to be safe and the reasons for safety.

    2. Stays current on emergency procedures, safety policies, procedures manual and other child care regulations intended to provide a safe environment.

    3. Participates in and constantly supervises pre-planned indoor/outdoor activities using developmentally appropriate materials.

    4. Interacts with children in an affectionate and nurturing way that encourages creativity and the use of their imagination to stimulate social and emotional development.

    5. Maintains high standards of professional ethics while showing enthusiasm while working with the children.

    6. Participates in training and reads professional literature of at least 30 hours to ensure the quality of care and development received by the children they supervise.

    7. Promotes cooperative and congenial interpersonal relationships and communication with parents, students, management, co-workers, volunteers and visitors.
