Commercial Sourcing Manager - Edge Network

Summary:

The Global Technology Hardware Sourcing Team moves fast and leverages key partnerships to drive technical innovation, high quality standards and cost-savings via a customized supply chain. The Edge Network Commercial Sourcing Manager will act as the primary commercial contact for Edge Network hardware products and services sourcing across the Meta supply base, while developing optionality on sources of supply as required. Sourcing activities will include, but not be limited to, identification of ODM/OEM Hardware availability and options, developing and leading negotiation and sourcing strategies, partnering with Meta Network Hardware Engineering teams to develop a business and technology roadmap in support of Meta's hardware goals and objectives and driving strategic sourcing decisions on a global basis. Working closely with the Network Hardware Engineering Teams, the Sourcing Manager will lead the commercial engagements for prototype sourcing and development in support of new product development and new product introduction. The Sourcing Manager will also be responsible for the deployment of selected solutions and technologies, and supplier management with particular emphasis in the areas of sourcing for advanced technologies. Additionally, the Sourcing Manager will be responsible for contracts, negotiations, joint development models, IP, licensing, and the development of global commodity and supply chain strategies to enable Meta to meet time-to-development/time-to-production goals, while managing the total landed cost. This position reports to the Director of Global Technology Network Sourcing.

Required Skills:

Commercial Sourcing Manager - Edge Network Responsibilities:

1. Current knowledge of the technology and industry trends for the networking technologies and perform competitive analysis on relevant products.

2. Develop, manage and refresh sourcing strategies and roadmaps for Edge Network with a strong understanding of the actively managed adjacent technologies such as OEM, JDM, and commodity supply base.

3. Develop and maintain deep relationships with executive management at core suppliers. Influence supplier business models, roadmaps, and support to ensure Meta's commercial and technical requirements are met.

4. Provide commodity and supplier expertise and consulting to design engineering for technology migration and lower TCO.

5. Drive supplier proposals and RFQs. Resolve all commercial queries arising from the quote process and formalize business awards.

6. Own expertise in supplier negotiations and provide review and input for product development and master supply agreements.

7. Support product transfer from NPI to mass-production.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

1. 10+ years of business or supply chain experience in the data center, hyperscalers, cloud service providers, compute, or AI system hardware supply chain and associated industries.

2. BSEE or degree in a related technical or business field, or equivalent combination of education and experience in commodity management in a high tech environment.

3. Proven experience to move seamlessly from strategy to execution and deliver tangible results.

4. Interpersonal and communication skills, with experience influencing, negotiating, building consensus and making key strategic decisions.

5. Experience interfacing with internal and external partners in a fast-paced, often ambiguous, entrepreneurial and cross-functional environment, requiring a wide latitude for independent judgment while coordinating people and technical resources.

6. Proven understanding of "should cost" modeling for supply chain and design for value trade-offs.

7. Direct experience partnering with C-suite executives and senior leaders in top networking suppliers/partners.

$144,000/year to $201,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
