The Commissioning and Validation role provides crucial services to confirm equipment and facilities meet the design requirements and produce the expected results.     We have two immediate openings in our Buildings Commissioning/Validation group for an enthusiastic, diligent commissioning engineer / specialist. In this role you will prepare and implements project commissioning plans for existing or new buildings in across many sectors including healthcare, education, commercial, industrial, bio-pharmaceutical, and energy ensuring that systems are designed, installed, functionally tested, and capable of being operated and maintained for performance in conformity with specifications, design intent and client requirements. Working under the guidance of senior commissioning/validation staff, you will work on a variety of projects from small installations to large complex capital projects.

    Your Key Responsibilities

    • Perform commissioning/validation tasks including reviewing shop drawings and equipment submittals, r pre-functional construction checklists and conduct functional testing and assist with construction/installation observations

    • Review designs, drawings, specifications of facility and equipment to understand project scope and commissioning/validation requirements

    • Prepare commissioning/validation plans and checklist documents adhering to specifications, plans and schedules

    • Assist in the preparation of commissioning/validation project documents, client presentations, client contact and communication pertaining to specific project deliverables

    • Coordinate with other disciplines to confirm alignment with the design intent

    • Recognize when technical problems are developing and escalate or initiate appropriate corrective actions

    • Attend project coordination meetings

    • Good organizational and time management skills

    • Must be self-sufficient and self-motivated with strong negotiation skill

    • Ability to meet assignment schedule and delivery quality product under pressure

    • Strong interpersonal skills

    Education and Experience

    Bachelor's Degree Engineering with an emphasis in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering is preferred, or appropriate combination of relevant education and experience

    With a minimum of two years of related work experience or, an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above

    Local commute to our Albany office and client site required.

    Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

    Salary Range(s):

    • $86,600.00 - $176,800.00 Min/Max Pay Range(s) for postings located in NYC/NY

    The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
