    Boeing Global Services - Modifications Engineering has an immediate opening for a Modifications Configurators. This position will be primarily focused on Payloads commodities such as seats, monuments, stowage bins, secondary structure, and floor structure. This is a dynamic positions that will regularly coordinate with multiple Boeing teams across engineering, sales, and program management, as well as Boeing leadership and airline customers. Work statement will primarily consist of a mix of Layout of Passenger Accommodation (LOPA) development and technical study completion. Ideal candidates will have in-depth knowledge of multiple commercial aircraft commodities and experience with aircraft modification.

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Complete Layout of Passenger Accommodation (LOPA) development for modification projects in support of sales and engineering projects

    • This could require travel to airline customers or other Boeing sites

    • Lead and complete technical studies as required during initial scoping and proposal of modification projects

    • Work with engineering functional teams to effectively transition projects from initial engineering studies to executable engineering

    • Respond to requests from Boeing teams such as Sales, Program Management, or Engineering for LOPA development or initial technical studies

    • Identifies and defines plans for risk mitigation and opportunity during initial project phases

    • Develop engineering solutions that balance customer requirements and modification impacts to provide a cost and time effective solution that meets customer expectations

    • Provides technical, business and integration leadership for initial development of modification projects

    • Works under minimal direction. Subject Matter Experts (SME's) within the team for knowledge transfer and share lessons learned

    This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

    This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

    • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

    • 5+ years' experience with structures, payloads or systems engineering

    • 3+ years' experience communicating and collaborating directly with internal or external customers, peers, other employees, and all levels of leadership

    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

    • Senior (Level 4): 10+ years' of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

    • Experience with airplane/installation level certification requirements

    • Experience with interior compliance requirements

    • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Interiors, In-flight Entertainment, Structures, Connectivity, Avionics and AP&S

    • Previous experience working in the commercial aircraft modification environment

    • Experience providing briefings to senior and/ or executive level management

    • Experience working directly with airline customers

    • Ability to travel domestic & international up to 25% of the time

    • Manufacturing experience on Aerospace Design Vehicles

    • Experience with Boeing Global Services Programs

    Typical Education & Experience:

    Mid-Level (Level 3):

    Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

    Senior (Level 4):

    Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

    Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

    Summary pay range Mid-level (Level 3): $104,550 - $141,450

    Summary pay range Senior (Level 4): $128,350 - $173,650
