    Job Description

    The Director, Governance and Planning for Information Risk Assurance and Technology Risk Management is a broadly scoped and highly leveraged role, requiring leadership and strategic / risk assurance mindset combined with strong collaboration, organization, and execution skills.

    Reporting directly to the Vice President of ICAT and TRM, the incumbent will be responsible for developing, driving, and monitoring the mandates and roadmaps for the Information Risk Management Controls Assurance Testing (ICAT) and the Technology Risk Management (TRM) teams. This includes enterprise- and segment-level governance and project management expertise.

    In addition, this role will be responsible to:

    • Provide direction and support to the VP and AVP for managing execution, delivering on governance model requirement, planning needs, running governance cadences, and managing day to day initiatives RAIDs, enabling process improvements, standardization, and automation for the COE, in line with good practice and improved efficiency.

    • Provide oversight and training to staff as required and develop best PMO practices.

    • Prepare required executive decks and presentations

    • Work with management to ensure their informed consent and understanding of risk treatments and acceptances through proper governance reporting and escalation process.

    • Maintain and foster enduring relationships with internal customers and peers

    • Lead the day-to-day governance needs and requirements of the Information Risk Assurance the Technology Risk teams as per the defined frameworks

    • Drive the planning, forecasting, and financial management for TRM and ICAT teams

    • Oversee the ICAT Governance Operating Model design, implementation, and maintenance

    • Maintain the ICAT and TRM maturity and execution roadmaps

    • Provide project Management of all internal TRM and ICAT initiatives

    • Coordinate any ICAT or TRM regulatory or audit interactions or exams

    • Address all required vendor related activities such as onboarding, contractual drafting and SOW approval

    • As a People Manager, lead the Governance team, which directly supports the execution team with all governance tasks

    This role will directly manage 3-4 team members and indirectly will coordinate with 25 -50 resources.

    Job Requirements (Experience/Knowledge/Skills):

    • Minimum 8 years of progressive leadership in the areas of Governance, Program Management, Assurance and Control Testing, Project Management, Information Security, Business Resiliency, or Technology Risk.

    • Proven experience in Managing Change and implementing multiple parallel projects

    • Previous audit or 2nd line oversight and assurance experience is preferred.

    • Previous risk advisory consulting experience is preferred.

    • Strong understanding of related best practices and relevant industry framework.

    • Sound knowledge of best practices of various aspects of information risk management and prior experience as a leader in Information Risk.

    • Strong communication skills and ability to explain highly technical information for non-technologists including executives.

    • Strong competencies in collaboration, problem solving and influencing key risk decisions

    • Knowledge of the regulatory environments in the U.S. and Canada

    • University degree (Computer Science or related discipline preferred)

    The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

    Primary Location

    Toronto, Ontario

    Salary range is expected to be between

    $107,730.00 CAD - $200,070.00 CAD
