    WSP is currently initiating a search for an Early Career Transportation Planner for our New Orleans, Louisiana office. Be involved in projects with our Transportation Planning Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges.

    Takes part in providing local technical planning assistance for capturing, modeling, and analyzing information, geographical resources, and spatial and tabular data to inform and create plans for the safe movement of people and products by all modes of transport. Tasks may include providing support under general supervision with the preparation of segments of general plans, specific/master plans, public involvement, and regulatory compliance for a variety of client projects relating to equitable transportation development and construction, transportation demand management, mobility planning, multimodal access, surface transportation, and funding. Generates accurate and concise documentation, ensuring that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards

    Your Impact

    • General planning support, including data collection, research and documentation

    • Writing of reports and public-facing materials

    • Contribute to the development of state and local transportation plans, corridor plans, feasibility studies, community outreach and other technical analyses

    • Conduct field work and site research

    • Develop technical analyses using software such as ArcGIS, Tableau, excel and others

    • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures

    Who You Are

    Required Qualifications

    • Recent graduate from an accredited Transportation/Urban Planning or Planning related degree program.

    • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

    • Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills

    • Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products

    • The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • The successful candidate will have 0-3 years of internship experience in planning.

    • Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework

    • Experience using ArcGIS online applications and other database software.
