ER Registered Veterinary Technician

VCA Veterinary Specialists of the Valley (~~~) is seeking a Credentialed Technician to complement our talented team in Woodland Hills, California. The position is in our Emergency Department , full-time, 10hr shifts 4 days/week, swing and/or overnight with the flexibility to work at least one weekend shift.

The hourly range for this position is $28-$32, with a shift differential $4/hour. Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years experience in an emergency or urgent care setting

• Ability to navigate high paced workflow with a sense of urgency

• Exceptional interpersonal skills

• Able to be part of a collaborative team-oriented environment

• Comfortable to ask for help & clarification when needed

• Posses a high attention to detail

• Able to perform skills including:

• Venipuncture

• Catheter placement

• Bandage/splint positioning

• Wound care

• Radiology

• Anesthesia set up & monitoring

• Patient Assessment/Triage

• Laboratory processing

• Pharmacy

• Patient recovery

• Care for hospitalized patients/follow treatments plans

• Calculate and administer medications, including fluid bolus & CRI
