Experienced Veterinary Assistant

Here at VCA Durant Road Animal Hospital, we are seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant with a positive attitude to join our team! A minimum 2 years of veterinary experience is required.

The successful candidate will be a believer in the possibilities of high quality veterinary medicine and patient care-with the expertise and technical know-how to make them happen.

In this position you will be support our 3 doctors and team by creating a positive, low-stress environment for our clients and patients. As an experienced team member, the skills that you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to:

• Phlebotomy

• Catheter placement

• Radiology/ diagnostic imaging

• Anesthesia monitoring

• Patient assessments

• Surgical preparation and assisting

• Dentistry

• Laboratory work

• Medication fulfillment

• Patient recovery

• Maintaining medical records

• Providing compassionate care to all animals in our care

• Communication skills

Hours

Our hospital is open Monday - Friday 7:30AM - 6:00PM and Saturday 7:30AM - 2:00PM. We are closed on Sunday, but there is an on-call rotation for boarding pets that need medical attention.

Pay

Our pay rate starts at $15.00/hr and is based on experience.
