Facilities Assistant

Description We are in search of a dedicated Facilities Assistant to join our team in the semi-conductors and electric component manufacturing industry. Based in San Jose, California, this role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity. As a Facilities Assistant, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including managing incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining inventory, and assisting with special projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain records on incoming and outgoing shipments

• Prepare items for shipment, ensuring appropriate procedures, rates and routes are used

• Label packed stencils or cartons with accurate shipping information

• Assemble containers and ensure items are packed securely with necessary fillers, spacers and protective padding

• Inspect incoming shipments, document shortages and coordinate replacement of damaged items

• Distribute received items to relevant departments

• Ensure outgoing shipments conform with specifications

• Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies

• Participate in continuous process improvement efforts

• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned

• Utilize skills in CMMS, Management System, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suites, Microsoft Outlook, About Time, Conference Rooms, Construction, Customer Service, Documentation Requirements - Proficiency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) is essential for this role

• Experience with other Microsoft Office Suites, including Excel and Outlook, is required

• Knowledge of the 'About Time' management system is preferred

• Experience managing conference rooms, including scheduling and maintenance

• Understanding of basic construction principles is advantageous

• Exceptional customer service skills are required

• Ability to produce and maintain accurate documentation is crucial

• Prior experience in the Semi-Conductors or Electric Component Manufacturing industry is desirable

• Must be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
