  • Our client, a leader in the Chemical Manufacturing industry, is seeking an Instrument Maintenance/I&E Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have the ability to implement maintenance reliability best practices, develop and optimize preventive maintenance tasks, and support maintenance activities. The position interacts with other groups on site as needed to resolve problems and improve plant safety and reliability performance.

    Job Title: Instrument Maintenance/I&E Engineer

    Location: Lake Charles, Louisiana

    Pay Range: $110,000 - $160,000 DOE

    What's the Job?

    • Monitors equipment performance, makes improvement recommendations

    • Provides technical support/expertise in the design and installation stages of projects for new assets; modifies existing assets to minimize life cycle cost and maximize asset availability

    • Provides engineering design, configuration, programming, maintenance, trouble-shooting, failure analysis, performance analysis in support of safe and reliable operations of instrumentation equipment

    • Supports factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT) as required, as well as leads and/or participates in incident investigations and root cause failure analysis (RCFA)

    • Supports the maintenance team, partners with vendors and contractors to maintain, troubleshoot, repair/replace, test/commission/de-commission, etc.

    What's Needed?

    • Bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical, Electronic, Control Engineering or other applicable discipline required

    • 7 years' minimum relevant experience in instrumentation and electrical systems design, installation, and maintenance in the nuclear, petrochemical, chemical process, or refining industries

    • Proficient in Electrical one-line diagrams, Control logic function blocks, PLC ladder logic, Boolean logic, Cause & Effects, instrumentation cabling, wiring, junction box, UPS, power supply and distribution

    • Systems Analysis, determines how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.

    • Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques, performance analysis and the ability to solve field problems and familiarity with measurement and control devices from major vendors in the industry

    • Understand Instrumentation Society of America (ISA) and American Petroleum Association (API) Symbols.
