The Role

The Data Scientist is responsible for developing tools to collect, clean, analyze and manage the data used by strategic areas of the business. Employ techniques and theories drawn from mathematics, statistics, from the subdomains of machine learning, classification, cluster analysis, and data mining.

The Main Responsibilities

Collaborates with dedicated Lumen AI/ML resources to develop and maintain models used to assess Lumen Customer Experience (CX) and satisfaction.

Creates strategies for generating solutions and runs quick analyses to ensure feasibility of approaches for model maintenance and enhancement.

Plays a key role as "player coach" upskilling & training for AI/ML projects.

What We Look For in a Candidate

Required skills

? Strong statistical background and understanding of advanced analytic techniques

? Experience with A.I. and Machine Learning model development

? Proficiency in Azure AI Stack

? Proficiency in statistical data analysis and data mining packages (e. g R, Python)

? Solid programming skills in SQL, TSql, PL/SQL or similar database programming language

? Intellectual curiosity, along with excellent problem-solving and quantitative skills, including the ability to disaggregate issues, identify root causes and recommend solutions

? Self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with limited direction

Nice-to-have skills

? Experience with ETL tools (e.g. SQL Server Integration Services)

? Understanding and experience of integrating with APIs. Knowledge of standards such as REST, JSON

? Strong object-oriented programming skills (e.g. Java, JavaScript, Scala)

? Understanding of the Cloudera Big Data Stack. Hands on experience with Hive, Impala and Spark.

? Experience with digital analytics concepts (e.g. Next Product to buy, cross channel attribution)

? Azure AI Certified

Tool and platform know-how

? Data mining languages and packages (e.g.R, Python)

? Programming skills in Python, R

? Big data frameworks (TensorFlow, Caffe, Spark, Hadoop, Azure AI Stack)

Compensation

The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$94420 - $125890 in these states: AR, ID, KY, LA, ME, MS, NE, SC, and SD.

$99390 - $132510 in these states: AZ, AL, FL, GA, IN, IA, KS, MO, MT, NM, ND, OH, OK, PA, TN, UT, VT, WV, WI, and WY.

$104360 - $139140 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NV, NH, NC, OR, and RI.

$109330 - $145770 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DE, DC, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.

As with the pay range variety that's based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
