S&K Mission Support Services, LLC (SKMS), a member of the S&K Technologies, Inc. Family of Companies owned by the Salish and Kootenai Tribes, is actively seeking a Librarian. The Librarian position is contingent upon award. The Librarian must be able to acquire a working knowledge of Classified National Security Information (CNSI) procedures, and Sensitive But Unclassified (SBU) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) guidance, as not all documents are available to all library patrons. Must be familiar with the Scientific and Technical Information (STI) document process. Will work independently, or as a supervisor when additional staff are required, to complete the librarian technician tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
â€¢Manage circulation of holdings.
â€¢Perform cataloging and collection development
â€¢Acquire materials requested by patrons from internal holdings, other NASA centers, other outside libraries through inter-library agreements, or through external purchases
â€¢Acquire new library materials to support evolving AFRC research needs
â€¢Develop an awareness program to keep the center up to date in service capabilities of the library
â€¢Perform training sessions to the center to familiarize the patrons with the research library.
â€¢Develop and maintain an electronic database of all research material kept by the library.
â€¢Designate sample circulation materials per policy.
â€¢Maintain interlibrary relations with NASA and other libraries.
â€¢Provide monthly reports (metrics) and other reports as required to management.
â€¢Update the Research Library Continuity Folder which contains the Research Library Procedures Manual every October.
â€¢Greet patrons and answer phones; record and distribute messages; respond to both routine and time-critical or urgent messages.
â€¢Foster good customer relations and publicize library services via a monthly newsletter.
â€¢Keep statistical records of patron's usage of the library, records of documents requested, and any other data points as requested.
â€¢Shelve new and returned library material. Organize and straighten shelf holdings as needed. This may include lifting heavy objects.
â€¢Maintain an electronic database of all research material kept by the library.
â€¢Prepare shipping documents and mailing labels.
â€¢Participate in telephone and videoconferences pertaining to library issues as directed by the Government librarian (or Library TM).
â€¢Conduct all required training.
â€¢Develop and maintain general office files, functional procedures, and specialized files and archives systems as directed.
â€¢Provide administrative support for special events or visitors, including gathering data; copying reports; escort; delivery including shipping; other clerical functions as required.
â€¢Safeguard classified documents, information, and systems.
â€¢Assist at records management duties as required.
Location Information: Primary facility is located at Edwards Air Force Base, California. An additional facility is located in Palmdale, California - AFRC Building 703, Palmdale, California.

Master's Degree in Library and Information Studies (MLS) or a Master of Library and Information Studies, or Master of Science from an American Library Association (ALA) approved program.
4 years experience working as a Librarian or 4 years experience working as a Library Technician in a specialized library (i.e. University level Research Library)
License, Cert or Registration:
Current driver's license, proof of U.S. citizenship and the ability to acquire and maintain a SECRET clearance. The ability to complete and maintain Agency DCA certification.
Special knowledge, skills, & abilities:
Have a working knowledge of computers, proficient in Microsoft Office Products, Word, Excel, Access and Power Point.
