    Maintenance Supervisor

    Position Overview

    Shaw Industries is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for all maintenance associates. The supervisor will be responsible for the success of the roughly 25 technicians that support operations across three shifts. The supervisor will work closely with outside contractors, vendors and internal customers to complete maintenance work throughout the facility. The supervisor will need to utilize their technical expertise to guide improvement projects and complex repairs so that they are completed safely, quickly, and as economically as possible. This position will report directly to the Plant Engineer.

    This role is located in Chatsworth, GA.

    Position Responsibilities :

    • Track and use data to evaluate and improve foundational metrics for the department (PM compliance, Work Order Percent Captured, PM:CM ratio, Maintenance Cost per Unit, Maintenance Labor Scheduled, etc.).

    • Use corrective action process to hold associates accountable to company rules and departmental expectations.

    • Coordinate shift handoffs as well as shift to shift communication.

    • Collaborate with maintenance planner and leads to ensure proper distribution of work across all maintenance technicians.

    • Periodically evaluate the quality of work completed by all technicians and provided necessary feedback.

    • Organize and prioritize work to be completed while equipment is scheduled down.

    • Work with contractors and vendors to source and expedite machine parts as necessary.

    • Issue purchase requisitions for tools, material, services, and other items.

    • Directly oversee complex repairs, PMs and improvement projects

    • Partner with process engineers and other subject matter experts to improve safety, increase productivity, improve quality.

    • Drive technician skill improvement and level progression by utilizing cross training, work order diversity and the Demonstration of Skill (DOS) program.

    • Set and maintain mechanical standards for the plant, including corporate standards where applicable.

    • Lead development of PM's to support new equipment installations or significant modifications and assist in optimization of existing PM's to optimize asset performance and life.

    • Provide technical support on TPM related items such as equipment specifications and tolerances, operational opportunities, support of root cause analysis (RCFA) of significant failures.

    • Deploy predictive technologies as appropriate to support the overall TPM efforts.

    • Analyze problems, investigate design and coordinate engineering aspects of projects and develop solutions.

    • Responsible for managing and approving WorkForce timecards for maintenance associates

    • Must be available to work overtime as needed, including nights, weekends, holidays, and call-ins.

    Position Requirements:

    • A combination of 5+ years of education and experience in engineering, maintenance, manufacturing management, or other technical field.

    • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply knowledge in mechanical and electrical maintenance technologies.

    • Strong organizational and computer skills.

    Preferred Skills:

    • 2+ years in a leadership role supporting multi-craft maintenance personnel.

    • Experience managing/leading others

    • Knowledge of TPM and Lean Manufacturing principles.

    • Basic knowledge and understanding of machine control systems related to PLC's, drives, and related components.
