    Summary

    • MRI Technologist interprets a physicians script / order, explains procedure to patients, select software options and imaging parameters when adjusting an MRI machine. Views images from a work station and post processes procedure and sends to PACS for Radiologist interpretation. The technologist will assist patients to the MRI suite, position patients on the table for their imaging.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure's safety by screening all patient's, staff and visitors prior to coming in contact with the powerful magnetic field of a MRI scanner. Explain procedures, answer patient's questions as fully as possible and provide emotional support. Position patients and coils on the table that slides inside the MRI scanner. Recognize and respond to life threatening situations. Routinely check scanners and related equipment. Follow all safety procedures for self, patients and machinery. Must be able to communicate effectively with patient prior and during exam. On-call Responsibilities.

    Credentials

    • Amer Registry Radiologic Tech (Required)

    • Radiologic Technologist (Required)

    • BLS within 6 months of hire

    Education or Equivalent Experience

    • Graduate from a CHEA or AMA approved and accredited School of Radiology

    • MRI Experience preferred
