    Week 1 Sunday 7a-7p Week 2 Saturday 7a-7p

    • Patient Care Tech position in the Crisis Unit (Psychiatric Unit) located in the Emergency Room at Samaritan Hospital, Troy NY. Working Per Diem, including rotating weekends and holidays.

    College students with interest in Psychology, Human Services, or Medical Field - this is a position you won't want to miss!

    The PCT performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care activities under the direct supervision of a Register Nurse. Including but not limited to activities of Daily Living (bathing, positioning, ambulation and feeding), taking vital signs and collecting specimens. Also included is transferring patients, managing supplied and patient care documentation. This position requires the ability to do heavy lifting, pushing pulling and standing for long periods of time.

    This position requires

    • High school diploma or GED;

    • Experience in direct patient care preferred

    The Crisis Department provides a safe, caring environment for patients while their conditions stabilize. We conduct thorough evaluations and work with patients to reduce acute psychiatric disturbances. We then formulate the most appropriate treatment plan for each patient. We serve individuals of all ages and our care team consists of multidisciplinary staff with extensive experience providing services to individuals in psychiatric crisis. Staff include psychiatrists, registered nurses, and master-level prepared clinicians (social workers, psychologists, mental health counselors) whose primary goal is to stabilize patients in acute psychiatric crises and to formulate appropriate treatment plans for each patient.

    Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.

    PCT Pay Range:$17.25- $25.00
