    The Pharmacist Specialty is responsible to perform the duties of a licensed pharmacist.

    How You Will Make an Impact

    Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

    • Ensures adherence to laws and regulations and maintains compliance with State Board of Pharmacy regulations as well as local, state, and federal requirements as it pertains to prescriptions.

    • Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security and inventory of controlled substances, and disposal of drugs designated as hazardous waste.

    • Ensures compliance with laws governing the practice of pharmacy and distribution of drugs.

    • Engages in consultation with prescriber regarding providing pharmaceutical care.

    • Answers questions and provides information to patients on drug interaction, side effects, dosage, and storage of pharmaceuticals.

    • Ensures that stock and supplies necessary for customer care are ordered, stored, and handled in an organized and efficient manner.

    • Lead the activities of pharmacy technicians and delivery/equipment technicians. Dispenses, and compounds drug.

    • Plans, implements, and maintains procedures for mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals, according to policy and legal requirements, and ensures quality, security, and proper disposal.

    • Assists the patient delivery representative in orders, receiving, maintaining and tracking all infusion related equipment.

    • May be required travel to different worksite and other locations as necessary.

    Job Requirements:

    • Requires BA/BS degree in Pharmacy or Pharm D

    • Minimum of 1 year experience working as a Pharmacist in clinic and/or alternate site/home health pharmacy service; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

    • Requires current active unrestricted license to practice pharmacy as Registered Pharmacist (RPh).

    • Multi-state licensure is required if this individual is providing services in multiple states.

    • For Paragon and Carelon Health business unit, satisfactory completion of a Tuberculosis test is a requirement for this position.

    • On call rotation as scheduled by supervisor.
