    Summary:

    The Project Engineer IIT&D designs, schedules, materials budgets, and manages procurement for utility-scale high-voltage substation and transmission line projects. The Project Engineer II T&D works with minimal assistance from the Project Engineering Lead. This is an office-based role, with some travel expected to project locations, client offices, and other RES offices.

    Requirements :

    Engineering:

    • Provides excellence in the management and delivery of the projects technical deliverables, inline with the clients expectations.

    • Performs review of designs provided by the Engineer of Record for compliance with technical requirements.

    • Provides an explanation of variances and early warning of potential variances to Project Manager.

    • Seeks opportunities for value engineering and efficiencies in design.

    Procurement:

    • Provides technical evaluation of proposals from material suppliers to support procurement.

    • Assists Procurement with coordinating product and shop drawing submittals to the Engineer of Record for approval and client acceptance.

    • Identifies and quantifies potential risks, contract clarifications, and exclusions.

    • Tracks equipment during manufacturing and delivery to support the site team.

    Construction:

    • Manages and sets up technical documentation, drawings, specifications, submittals, and transmittals within the document control system (Procore).

    • Ensures that all superseded drawings, specifications, and other construction documents are marked as such, removed from the active layer, replaced with current versions, and transmitted to the corrected parties.

    • Provides feedback to the Project Manager to support continuous improvement.

    • Manages and controls the generation, issuance, resolution, and close-out of requests for information, technical inquiry forms, and transmittals/submittals.

    • Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.

    • Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, and Company Policies & Procedures.

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Presents, supports, and leads-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.

    • Generates the project Plan of the Day (POD) and visual progress trackers from templates for field operation tracking.

    • Creates Procurement Log.

    • Coordinates and manages the preparation, baselining, and updating of engineering and vendor schedules so that they align with and support the project schedule.

    • Liaises with clients, engineering teams, subcontractors, and vendors at the direction of the Project Manager.

    • Upkeep design change log for periodic distribution to the Project Manager.

    • Coordinates technical design review meetings.

    • Solicits quotations, reviews proposals, makes recommendations to PM, and tracks orders to site.

    • Supports developing projects to complete all required permitting activities before commencement.

    • Coordinates Safety through Design review meetings.

    • Complete other duties assigned and not outlined in additional responsibilities.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • PDF Mark-up Bluebeam and/or Adobe required.

    • PDF Markup software (Bluebeam or Adobe).

    • Working knowledge of at least 2 of the following: Substation, Battery Storage, AC Collections, or Transmission line.

    • Construction equipment, scheduling, and processes.

    • Critical path method project scheduling.

    • Quality assurance processes.

    • Functional competencies include building strategic partnerships, teamwork, communication, prioritization, and attention to detail.

    • Ability to assist other Project Engineers in learning new roles and technologies.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree in construction management or civil/electrical/mechanical engineering required.

    • Master's degree in construction management or civil/electrical/mechanical engineering preferred.

    • 3+ years of experience in construction preferred.

    • 3+ years of experience in reading prints and drawings, taking off quantities, creating logical and resource-loaded project schedules, planning and task direction preferred.

    • 2+ years of experience with renewable energy design or construction preferred.

    Anticipated base salary range: $74,000 - $87,500.

    The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.

    Travel Requirements: Domestic travel of 5% - 15% required.
