Senior Java Developer

Description There is a Software Developer opportunity in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area for talented and professional permanent candidates. The Software Developer would be responsible for implementing new features, maintaining existing code, and refactoring existing code across a breadth of products used both internally and externally at the company. We are particularly looking for candiates with a growth mindset and the ability to work both independently and with a team.

Key responsibilities

• Regulate and give production support

• The primary function of this job is to maintain and develop new features to internal and external facing software to enhance the customer experience and resolve issues on various operating systems

• Deliver clear and consistent report around solutions and time estimate to client-facing program management teams

• Consistently enact code-review and join up with other developers

• Work together with Scrum team to deliver exact work estimates Requirements - Less than one year of experience

  • This position will be the best fit for a candidate with familiarity with scrum

  • Applicants should be able to write clean, standardized code that performs optimally in highly concurrent environments

  • Applicants with knowledge of education standards such as QTI/APIP, SIF, AIF will be preferred.

  • Applicants with experience with software development life cycles, e.g. Agile, Big Bang, Spiral, Waterfall, etc., are preferred

• Strong familiarity with MVC Framework

• Java Spring experience desired

• Expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS)

  • Experience with at least one framework/library, e.g. ~~~, Polymer, ~~~, ~~~, ~~~, ~~~, ~~~, Bootstrap, etc., are required for success at this position.

  • Familiarity with full-stack development (front-end, to middle/application tier, to database) are required for success at this position
