Senior Mechanical Piping Designer/Drafter

Job Description

The Senior Mechanical-Piping design/drafting position is responsible for the layout design of the mechanical piping/ductwork systems, complying with process piping, ductwork standards, and acceptable industry practices. Projects will entail piping and ductwork layout drawings, support requirements with detail drawings, fabrication drawings, field installation, and equipment general layouts for industrial manufacturing processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Performs basic and complex layouts from information specified by others.

· Responsible for as-built drawings at the end of a project.

· Performs detailed dimensional and bill of material check of all drawings.

· Collaboration with other disciplines to create layouts and detail drawings

· Assists the Job leaders in determining how to best to meet job requirements.

· Assists other project disciplines with questions/issues during the project work.

· Checks entire job for interferences and constructability.

· Create 3D models and detail drawings with Autodesk Inventor.

· Creating bill of materials.

· Coordination and support with fabricators.

· Inspection of components and fabrications prior to final installation.

· Represents the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to an "On time under budget mentality"

Skills and Requirements

• Associate degree in CAD Technology or Drafting or something similar

· 3+ YOE working with Inventor 3D

· Advanced AutoCAD experience

· Strong understanding of mechanical and structural drafting disciplines · Knowledge of piping standards, SMACNA

· Piping and ductwork background

· Electromechanical design experience (schematics and wiring diagrams) null
