Sr. Accountant

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the manufacturing industry, located in CENTER POINT, Alabama. This role involves handling key accounting functions and providing financial analysis to support strategic decisions. The role will be based on-site and offers a clear growth track for those eager to learn and take on responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Oversee account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.

• Perform general ledger management and journal entries preparation.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for financial data analysis and reporting.

• Execute month-end close procedures and ensure timely completion.

• Handle cost - standard and cost accounting in a manufacturing setting.

• Process and maintain customer credit applications and records.

• Monitor customer credit accounts and action delinquent payments.

• Collaborate with different departments to foster inter-department knowledge exchange.

• Proactively identify and implement strategies for financial process improvements.

• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Requirements - Proven experience in a Sr. Accountant role or similar capacity

• Proficient in account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation processes

• Familiarity with bank reconciliations and general ledger management

• Capable of making journal entries with high level of accuracy

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

• Experience with month-end close procedures

• Knowledge of cost - standard and cost accounting principles

• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Professional accounting certification (CPA, CMA, etc.) is a plus.
