    The lab of Sanaz Memarzadeh, MD, PhD, focuses on understanding the molecular basis of the formation, progression and treatment of gynecologic epithelial cancers. The Gynecologic Oncology (GO) Discovery lab investigates the molecular pathways in chemotherapy-resistant ovarian and aggressive endometrial tumor cells that are candidates for therapeutic intervention via small molecule inhibitors and/or immunotherapy. Knowledge gained from this translational research will then be used to design and test strategies for cancer therapeutics that will move onto clinical trials.

    Dr. Memarzadeh and the GO Discovery Lab (~~~) are seeking a full-time Staff Research Associate I to join their team. The candidate for this position will be expected to perform a variety of molecular and genomic research techniques and tasks related to the procurement, transport and processing of tissue and tumor specimens while working on projects related to understanding the immunologic and genetic events involved in the formation and progression of gynecologic disease. Other responsibilities include laboratory and grant support duties related to new grant-funded projects; and preparation of data and technical writing for manuscripts, presentations, funding applications and progress reports.

    Salary Range: $25.75 to $30.71 per hour.Qualifications

    • BS in biomedical field or equivalent required.

    • Previous wet lab research experience required, can be obtained as part of degree program

    • Experience or knowledge in one or more of cancer, immunology and translational research is preferred

    • Demonstrated experience in common and modern molecular, cellular and genomic techniques in laboratory environment required

    • Ability to work with clinical specimens according to standard protocols is required.

    • Ability to seek out and read scientific literature to solve all levels of research problems is required

    • Ability to analyze research findings and prepare concise and accurate technical and data reports is required

    • Experience preparing data and contributing technical aspects of scientific writing for manuscripts and funding applications is required

    • Experience working with and preparing internal regulatory approvals and documentation (eg IRB) is required
