Storage Engineer

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a System/Storage Administrator in Woodbridge, New Jersey. This role sits within the IT industry and is focused on supporting and optimizing our storage and backup environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our Dell/EMC infrastructure, including monitoring and maintaining the performance of our various storage systems and managing backups.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Dell/EMC storage systems, including VMAX/PowerMax, Isilon, ECS, and Data Domain

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as system upgrades, patching, and performance tuning

• Troubleshoot and resolve storage-related issues in a timely manner

• Manage backups using Veritas NetBackup, ensuring data integrity and availability

• Configure and maintain Brocade SAN switches to ensure optimal performance and connectivity

• Collaborate with other IT teams to support cross-functional projects and initiatives

• Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps

• Utilize skills in Brocade Communications Systems, Cisco Technologies, DELL EMC Technologies, and Backup Technologies to perform daily tasks and projects

• Apply knowledge of Veritas Storage, Isilon, and NetBackup in managing and optimizing storage systems

• Use scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation tasks, when necessary Requirements - Possess a minimum of 7 years of experience as a Storage Engineer or in a similar role.

• Demonstrate proficiency in Brocade Communications Systems and Brocade Switches.

• Have extensive knowledge and experience with Cisco Technologies.

• Showcase a strong background in DELL EMC Technologies and Clariion.

• Exhibit familiarity with EO/IR systems and Backup Technologies.

• Demonstrate experience with Common Internet File System (CIFS).

• Have a good understanding of Computer Hardware and Configuration Management.

• Showcase ability in Design and Veritas Storage.

• Exhibit proficiency in VERITAS NetBackup and NetBackup.

• Have experience with Isilon storage systems.

• Candidates must be able to legally work in the country where the position is located.

• Must be able to communicate effectively in English.

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is required.

• Must be able to pass any necessary background checks required for the position.

• Must be able to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and reliability.

• A willingness to continue learning and adapting to new technologies is essential.

• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is required.

• Must have strong problem-solving skills and be able to think critically.

• Must be able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
