    About the role:

    The Manufacturing Engineering role is responsible of supporting, sustaining, and improving Manufacturing and Quality Operations at XOS. Provide Technical Leadership within Operations, up to and including managing projects associated with Engineering and Process Changes that drive Quality Improvements, Process Improvements, Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE), and Design Changes that require cross-functional resource involvement. This role will require you to coach and train operations personnel on best practices regarding critical manufacturing controls, and drive lead/cycle time improvement.

    The right candidate will have experience working in a fast paced environment and demonstrated experience with coaching and mentoring, with excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills!

    This position reports to the Lean Continuous Improvement Manager and is on-site in East Greenbush

    In this role, you will:

    • Support Operations to drive performance to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity. Be an active participant in Daily Management activities within Operations; assist with, participate in and contribute to triage and troubleshoot analyzers and related product failures to determine root cause and corrective action, and improve FPY.

    • Provide Subject Matter Expertise on manufacturing processes, material flow and breakthrough technologies that can be leveraged to reduce lead time, improve quality, or reduce cost.

    • Participate in all Design and Process FMEA exercises during Design, Development, and Product Transfer. Ensure that Technical Risk is illuminated, and ultimately removed or adequately mitigated prior to Product Launch.

    • Perform extensive design reviews of existing products to then define areas of design change that will positively impact quality and reliability, and/or reduce cost; expand Margins.

    • Drive CapEx, 3P, and other kaizen activities in support of Policy Deployment

    • Work with Materials leadership on timing of validation completion and cut in of validated parts or assemblies to ensure that there is no down time or shortages to customers associated with changes.

    Are you qualified?

    • 3+ years of experience with Mechanical modelling in a manufacturing environment or equivalent

    • Experience with Performing Product & Supplier Quality improvements, along with identifying and implementing process changes

    • Demonstrated experience with troubleshooting, analytical and planning skills.

    It would be great if you had :

    • Prior experience performing Six Sigma Improvement Methodologies & Design for Six Sigma Tools

    • Experience performing Lean Manufacturing Methods & Tools; process efficiency & yield improvement.

    The salary range for this role is $65,000 - $85,000 . This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
